Linux Pros - I don’t even notice anymore after decades of use. I think it’s great. I guess i could say that it’s nice that it won’t try very hard to protect you from yourself.
Linux’s Cons - CAD software still sucks which means i’m never going into a career based on design, engineering, or 3d printing. Also, I guess I could say it won’t try very hard to protect you from yourself.

24·8 days agoMy first 3d printer is a RepRap running marlin firmware… They couldn’t make me make that 3d printer compliant.
[edit]
I wonder if the microcenter locations in CA are suddenly going to have empty shelves where the 3d printers used to be.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Does anyone else feel irritated when deeply religious people connect everything with god?
5·19 days agoYes.-The phrase “God has a reason for everything.” Is something i hear a lot and take issue with.
-That said, it sounds like the person was pointing out that it’s worth practicing gratitude, but then they had to go and wrap that message up in religion, which automatically makes it a turn-off.

Technology@lemmy.world•Students are speeding through their online degrees in weeks, alarming educatorsEnglish
9·2 months agoit’s not that getting the piece of paper is enough as much as it has become a minimum standard for gaining jobs that frankly-shouldn’t require it. The guy that has “some college experience” looks the same in the eyes of the employer as the guy who never went to college, because they don’t have a piece of paper.

1·2 months agoI don’t see how they could realistically target Marlin firmware. It’s incredibly straightforward software/firmware that could easily be forked and duplicated. Even the old driver boards (Ramps) were originally hand-made pcb’s designed by fellow hobbyists.

2·2 months agothey specifically only became supportive of restrictions on personal firearms after minorities started carrying them for protection from law enforcement overreach. It was a whole thing with then-governor Ronald Reagan

True, but 3d printing get’s boring real fast when a person can’t design their own custom models. -I tend to forget that kiCAD even qualifies as CAD but I also never got far enough into the hobby of electrical engineering to design my own PCB’s, so that’s my fault for leaving it out.
