Not sure why these articles are only coming out now. My work bought me a win11 computer a few months ago and I was surprised to learn that the first few things I downloaded to the desktop showed up on my one drive. Is the release group the name of the people who usually upload subs? How would I find that?

For example, I’ve been trying to find Japanese subs for the show American Horror Story, but the only way I know to look is to search for the title plus subs. But the only result that even comes close is the opensubs site, which doesn’t have much Japanese content.

The one value streaming services provide is subtitles in languages other than English. Unfortunately there aren’t enough pirates in a lot of countries to make foreign media viable.

There were a couple “trues” that actually had a purpose and were actively less shitty than the original one. The games and gaming subs were mostly memes and fan boys being assholes, but truegaming was for longer form discussion and memes weren’t allowed.

I agree there are still a lot of problems with social media, not the least of which is I’m not sure if yt or fb ever adjusted their algos to not immediately start pushing alt right and neo nazi content. But don’t forget that the suicide rates are also correlated with a bunch of other bad shit, like growing income inequality and healthcare spending, loss of 3rd places, rent hikes, etc.
