I’m convinced the inflation numbers were seeing are complete bullshit. Ever since the fat pedophile moved back into the Whitehouse and fired the old BLS president, we keep seeing 3ish % inflation but everything costs twice what it did a couple years ago. Gas, flights, insurance, utilities, restaurants, entertainment. Then you get fucked at the grocery dairy, meat, vegetables, bread - it’s fucking crazy going to the store right now.
Prices only seem to be going up faster recently. Costco regular gas at my local was 419 today…at fucking Costco. Bonespur BestWords sucked us into another forever war with Iran too, so I guess we all better get used to it.
The problem is how economists measure inflation is not how people think of an need to understand inflation. Beyond fuckery like hedonic adjustments and the like, if food, rent and fuel doubles, but luxury yachts, private islands and presidential bribes are stable, the two partially cancel each other out.
The main disconnect is that economists measure inflation in a broad sense, while people care about inflation in a narrow sense.
No one publishes numbers for the people’s inflation because heads would be on spikes in no time. I’m amazed at how stupid our civilization is where you can just tell people chocolate rations are up, and against their own experience, will believe it.
It took this long to publish this? Must be getting so bad that even the media owners can’t continue to suppress the obvious because they know it’s gonna hurt them, too.
