Oh, it’s Picture-in-Picture, not Python’s Pip.

Oh, it’s Picture-in-Picture, not Python’s Pip.

And still people are going to say “I have nothing to hide”. (edit: or any variation of This is Fine)
Maybe a few less now.

Their own phrasing:
Google does not scan G Suite emails for the purposes of ad targeting
Sounds a lot like weasel wording to me. Could be they’re still scanning - for other pruposes. The article obviously does not clarify.
I’d rather they tell us all the data mining they do do.

There’s a reason they scrapped that slogan again.

They say they lay people off because AI does the job better (59% of 97). Doesn’t mean very much.

Article is a set of videos. For those unfamiliar with what iPhones cannot do ootb, this one’s probably most impressive:
Our devices are shoving convenience in our faces every opportunity they get.
“Give us all your data and depend on our products for the rest of your life but boy will it be convenient!”
In face of that pretty much everything else is inconvenient, esp. interacting with humans.
LLM-assisted coding puts that on overdrive. Countless times have I heard in the past year or so “well who has the time to code by hand?”. Sure, people have always been complaining, esp. unpaid FOSS coders, but never as an argument against doing the thing itself.
It’s like giving people the choice between a bun + cucumber + beef patty, or an already packaged McDonalds hamburger. “Well who still has the time to make their own sandwiches”.
I hope hand-coded will become a selling point at some point but considering most people don’t care about what is going on under the surface of their devices at all…

You’re actually pretty close to what the top comment says. Phrasing matters I guess.

Depends a lot on the proofreading the scientists did before “deploying” it:
Radical Numerics’ research is really more like a blog post — not only was the study self-published, rather than being vetted by a scientific journal, but it hasn’t even been peer reviewed. Making matters even murkier, the company declined to share clinical information about the patient or the doctors involved with the NYT, citing the proprietary nature of a treatment it hopes to monetize.
Say no more. Is Elizabeth Holmes out of prison now?

OK, no I don’t have that. Did not know that was required to get a .eu.org subdomain.

Client or server?

Not my use case, but it’s amazing that this exists. No registration necessary.

Nice. Just registered an account and tried to register a subdomain.eu.org to my VPS’ IPv4 address, but I keep getting
SOA from SUBDOMAIN.EU.ORG at nnn.nn.nn.nn: Error: Timeout
Maybe I just have to wait but I’m not sure I’m doing this right at all…

I always read this as shardware.

Yeah, I also found out now that it pulls in additional packages from the developers personal website, which is completely opaque as well.

“If it’s free and open source and it’s also software, it can be discussed here.”
Like I wrote, it seems like this can include questions like this one (and not just articles).

I do mind not being accessible to the average person.

Not sure how to explain how imagination works.
Unless you meant something else?

Are you saying website owners are always located in the country their .tld belongs to?
I’m looking for solutions here, so I did go to the actual site and checked before I wrote the above.

Interesting free tier option:
Feeling broke?
Instead of paying, you can leave us a friendly message or tell us how you use PageKite, and get free service in return.
And they’re from Iceland. And GDPR-compliant. And FOSS.
❤️❤️❤️
I think we have a winner. Let’s see how they respond to my explanations.
I know next to nothing about iPhones but I assume they’ve been notoriously hard to jailbreak?
