Tbf some of the popular music has been shit since music began I’m sure, but there’s also always good stuff. For instance rap music, most of it these days is garbage like lil uzi and lil peep, but there’s still dudes like Aesop Rock (not ASAP Rocky, Aesop Rock), Run The Jewels, Meyhem Lauren, Lil Nas X, making good shit out there. Pop hasn’t been good since the 80s though. Oddly enough I think my favorite stuff from “now” is actually the fact that shoegaze is coming back but called zoomergaze and it’s fantastic! The band Julie is a good example, check out their EP Pushing Daisies. Also there’s been some really good recent country, namely Charley Crockett and Sturgil Simpson, and (ok it’s psychedelic bluegrass but) Billy Strings.

There is good stuff, we just have to dig through piles of shit for it.

Former pizza driver here: Yeah it really does work like that, the cops never ask nor do they report it unless you say “Well there I was, delivering a pizza…” and your insurance company doesn’t send reps to accidents. We had people get in accidents, including me twice, every one was covered by the person’s insurance without question. Nobody cares but the insurance company and everyone from the store to the cops seems to agree “fuck them.” Sure it’s kind of insurance fraud but they deserve it and I never saw anyone get caught in the 10+yr I worked for multiple stores/companies.

Now, your rates going up? That’s a different story. That’ll happen just like any other accident, and for that reason it’s better if the store pays, but that just isn’t how it works at any store nor for Uber/Ubereats, etc.

All the packages you listed so far should be no problem.

Can’t put graphene on it, can’t sideload apps, can’t even organize your home screen in an acceptable manner last I checked which was admittedly long ago, never bought into the hype (which is the only reason to use apple).

Eh it still seems like it isn’t that big of a deal what the words say to me at the root of the issue, as I said if it said “she” which is similarly exclusive not even to men because who cares but to nonbinary people and the like, and the maintainer refused to change it for whatever reason, I still wouldn’t feel too strongly about it even though I’m technically excluded.

I mean, yes. In some cases on some issues, some people get offended at things that are frankly a waste of anger. Personally I’d probably have checked to make sure the person who submitted it didn’t pull an XZ utils or just fuck something else up by accident before I merged it, but assuming it was literally just :%s/he/they/g then I’d have merged it, simply because while I don’t think it’s really that big of an issue either way it’s easier to just do it than being brigaded and bullied.

Sure I guess I’d just be offended by everything always which doesn’t sound exhausting at all. Or maybe I’m already not the top paid person in my field either and measuring my successes against others is a recipe for jealousy and misery. I guess it’s dealer’s choice really.

No honestly if we change it to be a woman dominated field where I’d feel unwelcome instead of a male dominated field, like say teaching, I still wouldn’t be upset at the assumption because frankly it doesn’t hinder my ability to understand the material, I can read it as a typo and move on.

Unless I guess the person was aware of who I am and intentionally misgendering me to be a dick, then yeah, but if we’ve never met and the thing I’m reading is general, then it basically is just a typo the author didn’t realize they made.
