Thanks so much for the explanation. As they say, when a measure becomes a target it stops being a good measure.
Relevant XKCD for good measure.

How can these businesses keep running? Storing and distributing documents isn’t exactly the most technically challenging product to build. I’m not in the field though so I’m absolutely certain I’m missing a lot of the nuances here. Can you shed some light on why you think nobody new comes along to our compete these folks?
Such great products. Now we get…image generation, inpainting and a conversational AI. All technically impressive, but those older products were actually functional and solved everyday problems.
Wow that is pretty damning. I hope Google is adding all this stuff in with the replacement of Assistant but it’s Google so I guess they won’t. I replaced Assistant with Gemini a while back but I only use it for super basic stuff like setting timers so I didn’t realise it was this bad.
They did the same shit with Google Now, rolled it into Assistant but it was nowhere near as useful imo. Now we get yet another downgrade switching Assistant with Gemini.
As I like to say, there’s nobody Google hates more than the people that love and use their products.
It was a joke on the dual meaning of “user repository” which I didn’t think about that deeply but that would have been smart.
And the Arch User Repository is really handy when you need some more users.
The ones that come to mind are Beyond All Reason and Battle For Wesnoth.
There would definitely be a lot more art permanently lost.
What would happen if you lather yourself in soap so you’re really slippery and then you sit in a bath?
Actually you’d probably hurt yourself getting into the bath so maybe don’t try this.
Band of Brothers
I think exercise selection is a pretty personal thing. There are going to be exercises you like that feel good and some that you don’t really get into. I’d say mix it up until you find a routine with exercises you enjoy or at least don’t mind that still hit the muscle groups that you want.
I don’t really know how to answer the rest of it. If you find exercises you enjoy and they are helping you towards whatever your goals are I’d say who cares what people think but that’s just me.
That sounds pretty good, why wouldn’t you recommend it then, are there better alternatives?
“That depends…what do you mean by have, what do you mean by you and what do you mean by heard of?”
I’m less worried about bugs causing boot loops with these kernel anti cheats and more worried about security holes.
I’m sure they test these things thoroughly though and take security extremely seriously… right?
Agree with this. I think this also should extend to every corporation.
Holy shit I hadn’t heard that story, that makes my blood boil. I would have contacted my embassy and turned that shit into an international incident. Also isn’t paying for someone’s flight in and refusing to let them fly back home some kind of trafficking charge?
Anyway, I guess it’s easy for me to say because I could at worst afford to pay for my flight home in a pinch.
Pretty intense but I thought the Seediq Bale films were really good.
From current data, it seems the more you know about this person the worse your life is.
Oh wow, so it’s basically a content farm for /r/TheRightCantMeme
