I’m not entirely sure. The best guess I have on that is, they’re pushing a narrative or shilling specific websites like nytimes (which all of these accounts I’ve seen so far have shared from very heavily).
Someone else mentioned it could be a person that got salty that they got banned from some communities and are having a shitfit making a bunch of accounts and deleting them before they get banned again.
On top of the myriad of things others have mentioned here, it hasn’t gotten bad enough/inconvenient enough for the average redditor to switch platforms en masse.
The API fiasco moved the needle a little bit, but not by enough. The multiple ban waves moved it even less. Theres still millions of people on reddit and that disincentivizes anyone to make the first move.
My hope is that when they get rid of old.reddit, it will cause another mass migration that could tip the scales a bit more, but I’m not holding my breath. Because now, reddit has hundreds of thousands of bots creating fake engagement that simulates human activity to those unaware of LLM-pattern speech. So that’s another unknown unknown.
Here’s to hoping, though.

Reddit loves banning decent humans and they love appeasing Nazis and protecting astroturfing bots. Maybe one day they’ll realize that bots don’t bring in ad revenue.
As someone with a second hand Galaxy from seven years ago, yeah there’s not really much difference. Newer phones are slightly more annoying to use, actually.

I am AFAB - been wearing mens pants for years and I don’t have a problem fitting into them. Probably largely depends on individual body shape and even then, taking measurements and matching it to the correct waistband/inseam size usually works out.
My crackpot conspiracy theory is that women’s pants pockets are smaller in order to force women to buy and use purses.
I make art. For myself, for others, whatevers. Anything to keep my hands busy and away from doomscrolling.

Pork products (excluding bacon). I can’t stand the taste of ham, bologna, pork chops, etc. Hot dogs are okay but I prefer beef franks.
Mac n cheese. I like noodles, and I like cheese, but I don’t like them put together unless there’s a tomato based sauce in between.
Meatloaf. The taste and texture is off-putting.

I used to write in physical journals for years (1998-2008ish) but kind of fell away from it after that. Couldn’t assign it to habit anymore. From 2004-2010 I kept a LiveJournal but drifted from that too, only log on once every few years to post an update.
Now I just use Daylio to record vague daily updates about my mood, health, activities, etc.
Maybe eventually I’ll pick up a journal again but that’d have to be when my daily life gets a little more predictable.
