As other comments have stated, other brands usually also sell non-RGB RAM sticks. Personally I got Kingston FURY Beast RAM sticks, they come in either RGB or non-RGB variety, though the RGB variety costs like 10 dollars more.

Having read through the comment chains here, your source is a relatively new malware called RingReaper.
This article from cybersecurity news seemed nice and they linked to the actual PICUS security report which first identified the malware, I think.
I’m not sure whether this malware is actually used to infect Linux desktops or if it’s mostly used for infecting servers, or whether it is used at all. I agree that people shouldn’t let their guard down with malware on Linux. Anti-malware programs on Linux are a good idea and it seems there are already projects tracking and combating malware on Linux. I do agree that Linux malware is not unheard of.
Nonetheless you seem to over exaggerate a bit. There is malware attacking servers running Linux but I doubt that many of those would work on desktop Linux. Furthermore, desktop share of Linux is still low, so there won’t be a big incentive for malicious actors to target Linux desktops specifically. The comments you posted here seem more like paranoia to me and do not seem useful, and your single example of a Linux kernel virus seems more like a derailment of the conversation. With that I can understand the downvotes. Don’t take it too harsh either, no need for your witty comment:

I’ve seen this posted before, so it’s definitely been discussed on Lemmy before. Reading the comments back then is much like reading the comments here, Clippy does not really seem fit as a corporation fighting symbol and frankly changing your pfp will most likely have no impact to Youtubes management. Why not simply go for a Reddit blackout kind of protest where everyone switches all their videos to unlisted or blocking monetization on their videos (if that is possible)? That will surely get the attention of Youtube.

German here, I think the degree needed for getting a good job mostly depends on your study subject. One friend of mine studied chemistry at university and said that a PhD is required for a good job while another friend of mine studied computer science and got hired before even finishing his Bachelor’s degree. The company helped him in finishing his Bachelor’s degree while employing him.

I studied math and got a Master of science, currently doing my PhD while working as a research assistant. I hear most math students leave uni after getting their Bachelor’s, similar to computer science students. Though it still wasn’t easy to get a research job for me. I think even within a study subject it depends on your field of research whether getting a job is easy or not.

oh hey, I was there too! Worked at the save3rdpartyapps logo, was really nice seeing everyone collaborate but it got really stressful at points. People were greedy for canvas space. Was a bit disappointing that we could only do so much, the banner was really small after all. But at least the protest didn’t go unnoticed with the giant “FUCK SPEZ” across the whole canvas.
