OP: the abovementioned subreddit might help you understand what’s going on and if you tell your story you will definitely get a lot of support from people who have lost friends and loved-ones to MAGA/QAnon. VSCode + Vim keybindings + Metals for Scala development. I used to use IntelliJ (paid and free) + the Scala plug-in, and Pycharm (free). For Scala I’d be fine with either VSCode or Jetbrains, just depends on who is paying (or not paying). I live right under the approach/departure path for the main runway at our airport, a couple of miles away. Probably around 100 flights/day total in/out, many of them B737s, flying around 2000’ overhead. I do wonder if Indiana religion-aligned “higher-ed” (either schools teaching religion only, or teaching a general curriculum and just aligned with some particular religious sect) faculty will have to welcome students who present “diverse” viewpoints regarding religious truths - viewpoints like atheism or (gasp) satanism or Native spiritualities or “Christian Science” or occultism or ancient Greek/Roman beliefs, to name a few.
