I also completely missed the point of the saying, why do you ask?

The smile he has as he’s speaking makes me believe he’s getting hard thinking about all the dead in this fantasy situation.

Cities are going to start looking like San Fransokyo (Big Hero 6) soon. Seems like an excellent idea though. If it really gets pursued, I wonder how it will interact with air travel, since I would imagine you would need no fly zones around these, at least at a certain height.

I’m guessing that was the Soviet bloc population. What he should have said is that everyone in the world would be dead. There’s no way there isn’t retaliation from any of the nuclear armed opponents. He’ll, id consider it if I were in charge of UK/France and the US did that. Maybe I’m wrong, but it seems like that level of radiation in the atmosphere would destroy human life anyway.
That might be one of the most adorable cats I’ve ever seen, and I like cats.
My mom always used thread or floss to do step 9, which cut it from all side, making sure they don’t get pinched on one or both sides.

I don’t know about the numbers you present, but absolutely agree that some industries are just worth supporting, from a government perspective. Cannot be reliant on a geopolitical enemy for goods that allow your country to continue to function.
I think Trump losing us allies is a travesty, but there’s no guarantee during a global conflict you can get items from said allies.

Maybe, but third party presidential, when there is no legislators is never going to happen, never going to be elected, and never get any bills passed. Aiming for the white house as the first stop is just silly.
Handy guide, but this whole USB situation is a cock-up, since it needs the freakin guide in the first place.

Apparently, the classification levels in the US are illegal! Snowden will rejoice, he can come home, as the first amendment allows free speech, even when it damages national security.
I did not read the article, but the summary made me actually laugh out loud. Hell the supreme court has already said the government has the right to intern a whole class of US citizens based on national security. The SCOTUS rulings do seem rather crazy at times to me though, so perhaps this is a winning strategy for ByteDance.
Two things are happening simultaneously Russia/China are trying to spread discontent, and Trumps followers are being told they no longer have to abide by social norms that keeps societies civil.
I believe the uncivil thing just always comes in waves as the people that don’t like change are forced to change and get resentful. Some kind of event happens and resets the floor, or all the people that don’t want to change die off, and things settle down.
And this is the mental framework through which I see the world.
I still miss having a physical keyboard for messages. If HTC had kept making slide out keyboard phones, I woulda kept buying. Though it seems, based on market trends, I might have been one of the very few.

Dungeons & Dragons (2000)
One of the few movies I’ve gotten more than a few minutes into, but stopped watching. Seem to remember my breaking point being when some female char was supposed to be struggling to crawl forward, but instead looked like she was swimming on the floor. Seems to me the actors aren’t bad, but the director must have been.

They towed the boat out of the environment.
Don’t think extradited, but US would try to garnish/seize money going into that account, which is why foreign banks don’t want to deal with the hassle of having a US customer. The extra legal requirements to have an account for you is just not worth it to them. The exception is only when you have a great deal of money, and then they can actually make money from your deposits. But then that amount of money in a bank is a sure sign you don’t know how to manage your money.
