Out of the box support it’s going to be Bazzite or CachyOS. Both great options but I lean Bazzite because of it’s immutability.

Mine is running Debian and to my memory has never crashed or required me to restore a backup once in several years.

This was an interesting article! While there is an argument to be made for an “AGI Manhattan project” I’m not convinced that companies like OpenAI or xAI will be of much value to a project like that at all. It would be like if the US government took over Joey’s Really Big Stacks of Dynamite Emporium in the 1940’s.

It’s definitely possible. It’s possible with a custom Android ROM.
There are are also a few phones in existence now that do basically what you request: https://www.thelightphone.com/lightiii

“this is the life I want”

This is a guess but I feel like it was around the time that most coding was done for things that weren’t explicitly “programs”, like web design CSS/Java and smartphone “apps”.

Reddit is one website with hundreds of millions of users. Lemmy is software that powers multiple tiny platforms.

They must be doing some voodoo since Tidal doesn’t let you use the same account for multiple concurrent streams.

it would be really hard to remove anything “from Lemmy” since “Lemmy” is just software and doesn’t host any content.

What’s going on here? Is it just pulling from someone’s Tidal account?

That was actually super helpful, thank you.

That’s cool, it just… does those things? How does it connect to those apps? I can’t even get Gemini to set a reminder and that’s on a Google device.

OP said coding AND “some automation”, what is being automated?

Just curious, what does “some automation” entail? I thought LLMs could only work with text, like summarize documents and that sort of thing.

Commercial software can outrun open source temporarily but it rarely ever wins the race.

Oh this is kinda cool honestly

This may be a dumb question but isn’t OTA TV still basically exactly what you describe?

For those not in the know:
Swartz’s involvement in Reddit is debated. He is considered the co-founder of Reddit by Y Combinator owner Paul Graham as a result of the merger of Swartz’s project Infogami and Reddit. With the merger of Infogami and Reddit, Swartz became a co-owner and director of parent company Not A Bug, Inc., along with Reddit cofounders Steve Huffman and Alexis Ohanian. Ohanian considers Swartz a co-owner of Reddit.

The Venn diagram of 4chan users is a smaller circle entirely within the reddit circle.
There are nice friendly frontends for this, Yunohost or CasaOS spring to mind but might be too simplistic if you already are familiar with Docker.
