As someone who bought “Super Mario Party” I feel you. We got at best 1/2 of a game and then nothing. I’m not sure I can be convinced to buy a Mario Party game again.

It sounds painful, and I’m concerned there will be too much menuing, but in general I’m trusting Nintendo on this one. (Well, maybe wait for a demo/review.)
Obviously I don’t know what the details of he suit against Disney but the truth is Disney fucked up and they knew it.
Disney tried to gain a few extra bucks at the cost of a legal battle with Johansson. If Disney won it would have been a clear signal that Disney is willing to screw over top talent for a few million dollars.
Not to compare “Black Widow” to “Endgame”, but that’s squabbling over millions when billions are at stake.
Looking at someone like Johansson that’s squabbling over millions when tens of hundreds millions are at stake. Contracts with top talent now take longer, top talent is a little less likely to work with Disney.
It all but guaranteed a loss for Disney.
The settlement was Disney’s way of saying “we fucked up”, and truth be told was probably at least partially responsible for Bob Chapek being replaced as CEO.
Layoffs also shake every other employee in an immeasurable way.
Even if you didn’t lay someone off they may now change their priorities. Maybe they focus on the people pleaser tasks. Maybe they focus more on what is good for them to keep their job vs what is good for the company.
Layoffs should be a last resort but tech companies are just playing follow the leader right now. In a few years we’ll see memoirs and books stating “in hindsight we may have made a mistake, but we made the best decision we could with the information we had at the time”, it’s all absolutely bullshit. This is all being done for a temporary stock boost.
As far as I know. You could probably get fancy moving to dev mode and then install whatever, but I’m plenty happy with Debian.
Crostini. https://chromeos.dev/en/linux
A “one click” install of Debian (in a VM) that runs alongside your ChomeOS device. It’s a great starter tool for those getting used to Linux and even for the Linux Pro it gives you a terminal, which 99% of the time is all I need.
You can use GUI applications as well so GIMP and other tools are available.
Super easy, barely an inconvenience.
Today? Maybe a few. A week, a month, a year from now? Reddit is going to get worse. People will leave.
Looking at Twitter it’s clear some folks will never leave no matter how bad it gets, but plenty of folks will leave.
It’s fair for GRRM to share some of the blame, but any Internet commenter, who can’t write for shit (see me), could have written a better ending.
To me it seemed like they were bored and wanted to move on. They had Star Wars/Disney lined up. They had Netflix (possibly this thing) lined up. Conceptually I get it. They’d worked on Game of Thrones for years, it was time to move on.
But they fucked up bad. Real bad.
Obviously I hope they’ve learned and are better now, but I’m not betting on it.
I knew they were involved, but I was surprised to see their name dropped in the article. I assumed they would try to downplay their involvement so I checked the article to be sure.
I appreciate the honesty, but no thank you.
Over its eight-episode run
It’s a series AFAIK.
I do agree they did a solid job adapting things, and I would hope the collective slap from the failure that was the final seasons of Game of Thrones would humble them.
I’m not writing the series off completely, I’m just not willing to give it a shot until after a thorough review and clear ending.
It’s not a matter of pirating or not, it’s a matter of quality.
acting as a strong comeback for Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss.
No thank you.
I’ve heard great things about this story, but I’m not watching something run by these loons.
If it’s a one and done season, I’ll watch it once it’s done. If it’s going to take multiple seasons, I’ll watch it when it’s done. It’s Netflix, so they won’t finish it.
If they had discounts it would work. But we all know they aren’t having discounts.
To be fair to Chrome.
Microsoft had the vast majority with Trident. Mozilla/Firefox slowly gained market share with Gecko. Chrome/Webkit* then took market share from both.
It’s not like Chrome just appeared one day and demanded everyone use them, they gained market share by being a good browser.
*(Chrome now uses a fork of Webkit called Blink.)
That being said I do think Firefox provides the best browser experience, and Chrome users should look into switching.
Which is a long way of saying Microsoft fucked up bad. Real bad.
I have 8 bucks in Google Kajigger, is it moving to the new thing? Do I have to sort out how to move it around? I’m think I had it all hooked up to a bank at one point. Maybe it was a friend that sent me money?
I think I used it to pay for Dunkin Donuts, but both apps list Dunkin Donuts, can I just use the money there?
That’s why this is all so annoying, I have to figure out this whole process, old and new, just for 8 bucks.
In the trailing off part of the article,
“Many stock trades are done by computers, reacting in fractions of seconds to new information. The inflated margin likely triggered a buying frenzy before most people could digest the numbers.”
Which, if true in this case, is even more funny to think about. Not only does the share values not reflect actually company value, but that value isn’t even what a person thinks it is.
I’m reminded of the helpless employee who says “The computer won’t let me do it.” The enigma of the computer that is off doing it’s own thing.
Season 2 has been excellent so far.
I do agree waiting 2 years for 4 episodes, then 5 months for 4 more episodes is a huge let down.
Because it’s not true. It feels believable, but it’s a lie. Everyone, especially at the top, know this so no one is punished.
I’ve never heard that before and find it baffling.
Bulbasaur comes out of the gate with two types.
Charmander becomes Charizard with two types.
The first (or second) non-starter you encounter is Pidgy with two types.
The required Viridian Forest had Weedle with two types and if you only got a Caterpie, that becomes Butterfree who also has two types.
The number of two type Pokemon that you can catch at the start of the game is massive. Probably about half?
I agree with you.
Edit: The steps below also fix the first issue. (Restart required?)
For your second issue it’s been discussed at https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/23856847 and https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/discussions/firefox-mobile-toolbar-redesign-needs-a-compact-mode/td-p/62031
You can use the secret menu to disable the navigation toolbar. https://firefox-source-docs.mozilla.org/mobile/android/fenix/Secret-settings-debug-menu-instructions.html
As for the first problem, if someone finds a fix I’d be happy to know. (Edit: Err, actually these steps fixed it?)
