I type my search into the post and then usually some kind person finds me a link and calls me a asshole
Don’t ask for permission, ask for forgiveness.
And if you’re the president, forgive yourself.
Without outing yourself… Can you share where?
Or even a population size.
In the big cities I’m in, they’ve become deserts.
People use Amazon instead of the mall because they can still afford the Temu-level garbage Amazon sells.
I mean a few reasons.
I dunno. Steam did it well enough. I was buying cheap games for years. I could get a kick ass GOTY game for like $5 while GameStop was still selling it used on consoles for $20.
Lemmy: why aren’t people using Linux? It’s so easy
Also Lemmy: webp huh?
Lemmy folk forgetting that not every person cares enough to switch OSes.
If you ever work tech support even at a basic level, you’ll see. It’s not even boomers or genZ. I helped a grown ass human who was my age at 40yo how to install a Firefox extension.
That could have been me a few years ago. I was still using teamviewer up until 2020 to connect to my desktop from my laptop. It’s so handy.
Fortunately it was when I started learning about open-source solutions
Samsung appliances. Fridges. Washing machines.
Got them as part of the rental unit. They’re very new looking. But every month is some new mess up.
God I would replace them if I owned this place.
After the first 100, the other 300 kinda don’t matter.
spanked one 100 times
One 100 times or 1 time, but 100 times?
I can’t imagine this to not be the case. Every bartender I know is tweaked out of their mind. Even the ones who see bartending as an art.
I’m not knocking their skill set. But they’ll be a rare breed if they think about bartending AND food safety at a high level enough to think about the cleanliness of ice.
I worked at startups and I’m not going to deny that I was absolutely horking my company as a solution for years on Reddit. Especially with niche products.
This was from 2014-2018, and then I left startups and worked in corps.
When Google has plans to slurp reddit comments, I bet I could gamify reddit even more.
Hate your kids? Send them to a Troubled Camp where they’ll kill them. Good job parents.
He has a new book?
I love John Romero and read all the books about Doom/his life.
Can’t wait to check this one out!
Department lead.
The website team is small, but incredibly effective. Everything works. Everything is mobile friendly, responsive, fast. It’s a way better experience.
I love my app developers, but they’re always behind. Not their own fault. Mobile development is complicated. There’s so many screen sizes, iOS vs Android differences, platform permissions, etc.
The big reason for us to push the App on people was to get more brand awareness on the App Store. But the website is so much more better.
You literally can use it as a web app right into your phone and get a better experience.
And it’ll be such a dark day when I have to dissolve the App team (and hopefully convince them into web dev)
My whole company moved out of windows during the pandemic. It was all forced.
And surprisingly, after a year, it was pretty smooth.
Push your IT folks to do the same everybody. The money saved is significant. And the learning curve is annoying, but not as annoying as managing Windows.
Google One was a pretty sweet deal on paper.
But unfortunately, Google’s superpower of making really cool things and then killing it off continues to exist.
Nah. Our stupid ass government only recently started hiring hackers who smoke weed. But even then, there’s too much stupid red tape.

It also doesn’t help that the Republican Party have outright praised Russia, which means they’re already inside.
