  • I’m not trying to convince anyone. I well aware of where the tech will be in 30 years and I am getting one. If anyone else has a problem with it, they can wait until then to do their surprise pikachu face when the tech ends up being awesome, exactly how AI is going. LLMs are basically useless, but outside of those AI even in it’s modern incarnation is wildly inpressive, and will only get moreso.

10 years ago no one believed me when i told them about the LLMs we currently have. It was around that time I realised that the public makes sweeping generalizations about tech when 99% of them don’t understand the tech, the math, or even that something being present in nature means its replicable, because nature can replicate it(and therefore so can humans). That last one seems to be a huge disconnect in peoples cognitive abilites.

Edit: also anyone who tells you anything about your piercings in a disrespectful light can go suck an egg, they don’t live in your body. I realize im autistic but the fact that people try that shit and then other people are susceptable to that sort of societal pressure is wild to me. I do what I want, when I want, however I want. People call me weird and I openly ridicule them for thinking their opinion holds any sway over me. You try to shame me, and I will shame you for your massively inflated ego that you think has power over me.

  • I am curious and like to think I’m humorous. I have a lot of issues, but I do my best to only allow my issues to effect those that have asked for it(in a literal sense, like my friends asking me how im doing when im dealing with issues). As a result of my curiosity I have attained a very wide set of experiances, knowledge, and skills. My remaining goals are family oriented, in the sense that I’d like to begin the process of settling down and working on team based goals.

Edit: i guess this info may be cheating, but it worth noting that the order of my sentencing is as important as the content itself.

Thats because it wasnt originally called AI. It was called an LLM. Techbros trying to sell it and articles wanting to fan the flames started called it AI and eventually it became common dialect. No one in the field seriously calls it AI, they generally save that terms to refer to general AI or at least narrow ai. Of which an llm is neither.

  • So youve never used it as a starting point to learn about a new topic? You’ve never used it to look up a song when you can only remember a small section of lyrics? What about when you want to code a block of code that is simple but monotonous to code yourself? Or to suggest plans for how to create simple sturctures/inventions?

Anything with a verifyable answer that youd ask on a forum can generally be answered by an llm, because theyre largely trained on forums and theres a decent section the training data included someone asking the question you are currently asking.

Hell, ask chatgpt what use cases it would recommend for itself, im sure itll have something interesting.

  • In C#, when programming save/load in video games, it can be super tedious. I am self taught and i didnt have the best resources, so the only way i could find to ensure its saving the correct variables was to manually input every single variable into a text file. I dont care if its plaintext, if people want to edit their save then more power to them. The issue is that there are potentially tens of hundreds of different variables that need to be saved for the gamestate to be accurately recreated.

So its really nice that i can just copy/paste my classes into gpt and give it the syntax for a single variable to be saved, then have it do the rest. I do have to browse through and ensure its actually getting all the variables, but it turns a potentially mindnumbing 4 hour long process into maybe a 20 minute one thats relatively engaging.

Also if you know a better way lmk. I read that you can simply hash the object into a text file and then unhash it, but afaik unhashing something is next to impossible and i could never figure it out anyways.

  • Lmfao, teaching bad. Got it.

You act like I was spreading misinformation. Check my comment history and link one instantce of me spreading that as factual. Spoiler: you cant.

I literally informed in the comment you are referring to that it was unvalidated, and once again(i have to reiterate due to your low reading comprehension) I asked an expert.

We are on a forums website, the point is the spread of information. It is wildly unrealistic for me to fact check every claim I read, which is why the best option is to take unvalidated claims with a grain of salt.

Speaking of useful idiot spreading the last thing they misread, you may want to reread my entire comment thread. You clearly missed the entire framing of the conversation, to the point im questioning that you read it all beyond the first sentence, where you then assumed I was just parroting bullshit like your final statement.
