  • Legends of runeterra has a single player campaign that is probably the funnest card game ive ever played. There are in app purchases, but ive been playing off and on for about 6 years and ive never bought anything. No ads either. Rogue card adventure i think is another really good one despite the less than impressive name.

Optionally, its fully possible to get an emulator on your phone. Id recommend a bluetooth controller (a lot of older phones wont allow wired controllers even with the adapter, but ime every phone allows bluetooth controllers) but its not required. You can emulate any game from atari all the way up to gamecube on the shittiest $20 walmart phone with a screen.

Finally, as long as you are on android, technically you can get almost any app for free. Super illegal and they definitely (wont) prosecute you, so i would highly advise against checking websites like apkaward, as you might find malicious programs that install fully playable games on your device, such as the amazing star wars:knights of the old republic 2 android port that can be found on that site. Fair warning though, if you accidently end up up with kotor 2 on your phone id highly recommend getting the content restored mod. It adds back in all the cut content and fixes a slee of potentially gamebreaking bugs. On current android you do have to use a conputer to install the mod, but its very easy and i can help you with that part as it is entirely legal.

  • Yep, thats the key issue that so many people fail to understand. They want AI to be deterministic but it simply isnt. Its like expecting a human to get the right answer to any possible question, its just not going to happen. The only thing we can do is bring error rates with ai lower than a human doing the same task, and it will be at that point that the ai becomes useful. But even at that point there will always be the alignment issue and nondeterminism, meaning ai will never behave exactly the way we want or expect it to.

  • When discussing things like this, i find it best to view it through the lens of ubi. AI is happening, theres no amount of online debating thats going to change that. So if you dont create an economic system where people dont have to work to survive, people arent going to survive in your system. Hence, they have a point. People that WANT to get into music always have that option, untied to economic success. People that only make music as a cash grab now no longer have that incentive, because they dont need to.

People having to work to survive is barbaric

  • Spammers go for the easiest targets. If you do stuff like this, they might redesign their system to make it LESS likely to send to you. Keep in mind theyre targetting the elederly, mentally handicapped, and the emotionally desperate. They specifically DO NOT want to target the educated, technologically literate, and those that will waste their time. By attempting to technologically limit them from their scams, you make it more difficult for them to target you and it makes it obvious theyre not worth your time.

Its not about making yourself scam proof, its about making yourself an unappealing target.

(This all applies to scam emails, dunno if it has any effect if the goal is phishing but i would imagine so. If they can phish 5 people in the time it takes to phish you, youre no longer their target.)

Edit: this is why scam emails look obviously scammy, with misspelled words and grammarical errors. Its not a mistake, its an attempt to preemptively weed out people who want to waste their time

  • I’m not trying to convince anyone. I well aware of where the tech will be in 30 years and I am getting one. If anyone else has a problem with it, they can wait until then to do their surprise pikachu face when the tech ends up being awesome, exactly how AI is going. LLMs are basically useless, but outside of those AI even in it’s modern incarnation is wildly inpressive, and will only get moreso.

10 years ago no one believed me when i told them about the LLMs we currently have. It was around that time I realised that the public makes sweeping generalizations about tech when 99% of them don’t understand the tech, the math, or even that something being present in nature means its replicable, because nature can replicate it(and therefore so can humans). That last one seems to be a huge disconnect in peoples cognitive abilites.

Edit: also anyone who tells you anything about your piercings in a disrespectful light can go suck an egg, they don’t live in your body. I realize im autistic but the fact that people try that shit and then other people are susceptable to that sort of societal pressure is wild to me. I do what I want, when I want, however I want. People call me weird and I openly ridicule them for thinking their opinion holds any sway over me. You try to shame me, and I will shame you for your massively inflated ego that you think has power over me.
