To increase engagement, I propose we have some idiots volunteer to respond to every scientific article and achievement on Mastodon with ridicule and skepticism.

I honestly don’t know if they do or don’t have. I’d imagine it also varies by region. I just know schools have started giving out laptops to kids to take home if they are needed.

These aren’t necessarily the computers you and I grew up on where they had a dedicated computer lab room for use during class time. These are devices they take everywhere with them, even home. Now imagine some creepy school IT administrator decided to peek on the Webcams of kids while they’re on their room?

How about home improvement? If your living situation or someone close to you, like family, allows for it why don’t you look into that? You can do things like changing lights, old doors, paunting, etc. Depending on how comfortable you are you can look into some more complex projects. They can be pretty physically demanding and you’ll be active for a long time.

First off, just looking at those pictures…Ouch. I hope they don’t hurt you OP.

Some suggestions I can think of:

1. Hiking if there are any places near you and you can get to them.
2. Woodworking? Not sure if you can do it because of your hands.
3. Gardening/Landscaping. I gardened this summer and while the effort was minimal since I didn’t plant much it was kind of rewarding. I’ve done a bit of landscaping (laying interlock) and it was also rewarding.
4. Running and/or swimming. Not exactly mentally stimulating I know but don’t discount the endorphin boost.

I’ll admit I didn’t go through that many of OPs posts when I made my original comment to you so I took a closer look. It looks like OPs titles suffer from bad grammar more than bad spelling. The only real spelling mistakes I found was “redemtion” on a few of OPs posts which can be excusable if you’re just spelling it how it sounds. I 100% agree with you people should do their best to proofread their posts, especially titles. I just don’t feel it’s justification enough to downvote someone.

I don’t think it’s fair to OP to criticize their spelling. English may not be their first language. Even if it was, we shouldn’t penalize people for making innocent mistakes.

Put a bit more effort in your posts. It’s nice that you’re actually posting and asking questions to engage the community. I just think you need to work on making your posts not seem low effort. For example, in your post about a game you like or comparing games try writing some talking points that would engage people. Opinions you have. Lists of things you like and dislike. Things like that.

When you just have a bunch of low effort posts it makes it look like you’re some kind of online troll building a presence to make you seem more authentic.

I was thinking more along the lines of what those children would grow up with. They would end up becoming adults who understood trust and cooperation at a whole other level.

A whole lot more co-operation and less traumatized children.

Even if it somehow gets reinstated, the damage is done. Majority have already left for alternatives.

This is for an independent president, yes? Can you vote for an independent member of congress?

So genuine question what does this mean for the protestors come election day. Is there only choice to vote Democrat or Republican? Can they vote for an independent? How would it work?

And I’m not disagreeing with you. All I’m saying is these protestors want her to stand up to AIPAC and the others from now. They have no guarantee that even if she does get voted in that she would do anything and they want that. A guarantee. They want her to earn their vote. You can disagree with the stance and you’re absolutely not wrong in saying she will piss off groups like AIPAC if she does but these people have an absolute right to withhold their vote for her if she doesn’t give them what they want. What that means come election day; I’ll leave someone more knowledgeable in American politics to say.

You’re not wrong in a sense. The problem is she is refusing to promise to fix things regarding this topic when she is sworn in.

She’s trying to attract the more moderate Republicans at the cost of her parties progressives. It’s either bold or stupid. We’ll know in a few months.
