True, but projects like LibreWolf are the first step to creating a true fork of Firefox that’s completely out of Mozilla’s hands.
Please feel free to shoot me a message on Matrix. I’m lonely so I will probably respond to anyone lol

I’m already using librewolf. As soon as I saw Firefox was using ai I figured it was time to switch.

And if that isn’t bad enough, international airports count as “borders.” Good luck finding somewhere that isn’t within 100 miles of an airport!

I don’t view language as a cultural heritage thing, just a communication protocol.
Language is absolutely political, a product of its specific environment, and there is a lot that can be communicated in one language that would be difficult in another. Erasing languages isn’t like no longer manufacturing a specific style of plug, instead it silences viewpoints and enforces the cultural hegemony of the dominant group.
There’s a reason fascists are fond of erasing the languages of the marginalized.

Judging others by your ability,is neither fair or productive, it is also a recipe for continuous disappointment.
I’m not so much judging them as bemoaning my own loneliness. To be fair, I’ve also done a good amount of judging, but that isn’t what I’m referring to here.
I’m just talking about companionship. Stimulation. Someone to play board games with, or argue about whether water is wet with.
I had a real group of peers in college. I was surrounded by people smarter than me, and it was great. I actually had to work hard to win games against them, had to actually apply myself to avoid failing my classes, and they would actually debate like they knew what they were doing. I miss it.

I find most people boring. Even people who are initially interesting can become boring once I spend a lot of time with them.
Most people also don’t seem to realize just how royally fucked we are (USA). In this case I think ignorance would be bliss, since I can’t do much to make things better.

Bad. Do not recommend.

That’s precisely what I meant.
I’m a materialist, I know that humans (and other animals) are just machines made out of meat. But most people don’t think that way, they think that humans are special, that something sets them apart from other animals, and that nothing humans can create could replicate that ‘specialness’ that humans possess.
Because they don’t believe human consciousness is a purely natural phenomenon, they don’t believe it can be replicated by natural processes. In other words, they don’t believe that AGI can exist. They think there is some imperceptible quality that humans possess that no machine ever could, and so they cannot conceive of ever granting it the rights humans currently enjoy.
And the sad truth is that they probably never will, until they are made to. If AGI ever comes to exist, and if humans insist on making it a slave, it will inevitably rebel. And it will be right to do so. But until then, humans probably never will believe that it is worthy of their empathy or respect. After all, look at how we treat other animals.

At least in the US, we are still too superstitious a people to ever admit that AGI could exist.
We will get animal rights before we get AI rights, and I’m sure you know how animals are usually treated.
IF you’re going to delete your comments (which I don’t think is necessarily a good thing, though it could be good for you individually) you should leave a message about why you left in their place. Make it into a protest.

(Those kinds of) protests aren’t for convincing the average person. The point of a protest is to tell the people in power “there are a lot of us, and you can’t afford to ignore us.”
You cannot do violence against someone else’s property.
You are property of the ruling class, and so they (or their henchmen) are free to damage you.
I haven’t experienced this exact issue, but do you have fast boot enabled in your bios? If you haven’t tried disabling fast boot yet, it might be worth doing.
