Google’s gone full evil between this and all the YouTube ruining.

I’ve bought apps on Google Play where I’ve had to download the apk elsewhere because of restrictions like scoped storage making them almost unusable.

Neutron music players one example where they have to keep an apk on their own site to get round Google restrictions. as scoped storage is about 20 times slower not to mention a real hassle. PPSSPP is another example and probably a lot of emulators were folder access is kind of important.

If only he tends to give these things to the conmen installing the junk. I’ve tried to stop him wasting his money so many times but it’s futile I’ve tried to use his latest oven he had an amazing one before but when I tried to use the new one following every instruction he said and the actual manual I looked up online myself the food came out later absolutely fridge cold.

He insists his new cooker is brilliant, what can you do with that response to something that’s obviously broken from new and he should be returning.

He might need a home but I can’t do that to him truthfully, I just wish he had some common sense when it comes to things like appliances etc.

My dad falls into this category he constantly replaces things with way worse things just because they are new, I can’t get my mind round how he can replace really good working stuff with new junk that isn’t even capable of doing the job.

Wish I was joking but he does this constantly.

Read starlink refuses to block it in Brazil, now I’m curious if that gets banned or somehow blocked although I can’t imagine how.

Yeah I’ve removed it already and know all the antics YouTube has been doing as I use Smarttube on my Firetv.

But yeah not very impressed with Freetube in comparison to even a browser and the more I read about it not being able to view age restricted and other content it’s not for me especially with the constant freezes.

I tried it there but my browser works better is my first impression, I’m using thorium with Ublock, YouTube enhanced and some other addons.

Did honestly just give this a test but I kept getting videos just freezing up for no reason.

There’s a crowd mentality on Reddit it completely depends on if your first vote is an up or downvote. After you get a downvote I don’t think anyone even reads your point they just add their own.

I think this is true because I’ve deleted my comments posted the exact thing again and this time it gets positive karma.

Don’t I have one and it’s the only Android device I’ve owned that crashes and reboots almost daily. I can’t recall any other device ever doing it actually.

This company’s all about the next gimmick and couldn’t care less about actually making decent phones.

Any one else watch the Linux tech tips video (degooglefying) where he tried to claim blocking ads was Piracy.

That pissed me off because blocking ads is honestly just protecting yourself against viruses which appear even on ads on Google etc.

Also who am I depriving of their property by blocking ads, F you linus.

I’ve used Librewolf since the first time Google announced these kinda plans I’m thinking it must be at least 3 years now.

Theres tons of options Librewolf is overkill to be honest Firefox would be fine.

Wow. I bet their just trying to drag the case out until the guy can’t afford it. If something like this was successful none of us stand a chance against any company legally anymore.

Yeah the dev seems to jump straight to any issues even now, seems like a great guy to me he could easily charge for such a polished app and as long as the greed wasn’t mad I’d pay it.

How has nobody said Connect yet, I tried most of the other clients people mentioned and settled on connect.

This is after using Sync Pro for years on Reddit the pricing of the lemmy version just put me right off to the point I’ll admit I haven’t even tried it but then again I’m not interested in anything that puts ads on an adless service and I also will never try it as long as this is the case.

Connect is free and the developer is great

It describes removing the hard drive in the article and patching it, doesn’t sound like much of a real exploit to me. Yeah you probably shouldn’t be able to patch it but isn’t getting your hands on the physical hard disk much more of a problem.

Yep I have Infinity compiled with my own api key and while I don’t use it a lot it’s certainly a lot better than trying visit reddit through their website/app.

I guess this is just solving the same issue really without having to jump through hoops.

Ah I’m not an American consumer, just these companies acting suicidely mostly in an attempt to restrict their devices and force more ads I think.

I just think they are playing a dumb game because something is definetly going to undercut the lot of them while they are playing silly games. I think my next streaming TV device will be a good sbc as I just don’t like these company’s being in full control of my own devices.

At the minute I’m favouring a ryzen apu board but arms making a very strong showing now as well, so yeah I really don’t believe these big companies will get away with it for long.
