Going by your comments, I think you need to know a few basics before you get into people’s suggestions for actual services. Start with this: more or less, “the cloud” is just someone else’s computer. It’s bigger, the connection is faster, etc., but the services you use most likely run on a Linux computer much like the one you already have.

For experimenting with the topic, it would be good to have another computer that you can mess around with and not worry about having a usable machine. If you can cobble together a desktop from old parts it will be enough to start the learning process.

As I see it, phone manufacturers have zero reasons to keep the battery degradation low, but many reasons to push advertised capacity and charging speed. If you were cynical, you could also assume that they’re trying to make sure the battery doesn’t last too long because they want to keep selling new phones.

CAD on Linux sucks. Most is made as Windows only, and many people have tried running it through Wine (Bottles) or other janky methods. Don’t even try it.

Besides offering different approaches for different preferences, there are clear benefits to the extra level of organization. As an additional exercise, try to picture someone using multiple windows and tab groups.

Not everyone operates on the basic level. Hell, why even have tabs? The OS can manage multiple windows, and you can use multiple desktops to achieve the same result without that bloat.

Still, if it’s small enough to transmit via any wireless connection they can easily keep the local copy.

Why not both? As Linux achieves more and more momentum, you are bound to see real change in how Microsoft treats its users.

I was shocked when my new realme, which uses the same tech, didn’t even break 30°C while charging at 8+ Amps (should be around 80W). This was in a relatively warm room (25°C) and using the case that came with it, which surely doesn’t improve thermals. It gets warmer when charging from other sources with only 2-3A, like USB-PD or QuickCharge.

Coupled with the fact that it’s only accurate if you are constantly charging from below 15% to 100%, these are ranges that I rarely get my phone into.

AccuBattery needs a session to have 60% charged, so <20% to 80% works. Doesn’t need to be every single one. I actually asked support about it and they said this was the lowest percentage they were comfortable with. I was requesting to make it adjustable.

Accuracy of the measurement isn’t the entire point. I see the same issue, but since it helps track relative degradation over time it can still add value by giving more information when you suspect the capacity is getting worse.
