  • Nothing you ever enforce on people will stop them from talking with one another. Some people like to gossip. I find it be largely inconsequential until the gossip turns into fomenting lies or targeted harassment but then that’s no longer gossip and is harassment and should be treated as such.

I’d say lead by example and don’t engage with it yourself. What I would not do is fundamentally alter your presence to accommodate the gossipers or to avoid being targeted or something.

  • I feels fascy to me I kinda agree with your wife. It’s like a new slur the internet invented but its cool because to use because none of us are in the out group. Idk I don’t police people over it because I understand this is maybe a fringe perspective but I don’t use the word. It makes me a little uncomfy.

True AI will happen one day and clanker will be basically the n word to dismiss and discriminate. And like again I get this is almost like policing the language of a fantastical sci fi world we don’t live in but its just kinda the principle of the matter in some ways.

  • Change in the US will happen out of necessity when the US does try to do this but can actually receive pushback but much of it will have to happen because average people take up the call to build something better. The movement is growing every day.

I am optimistic that over enough time and with enough deliberate action anything is possible. Maybe not in my lifetime but that’s the fight I’ve committed myself to and it’s a righteous one.

  • A multi polar world will surely emerge. The empire will crumble slowly and gradually cede power to other forces.

I think the reality is the US will still be one of the most powerful countries but in a world where they seriously have to operate in diplomacy and not just imperial shows of force will be a net positive for the world overall.

The hope there is other nations that are polar powers and are nominally engaging in anti capitalist behavior will spread that ideology and help lift the the tides of revolutionary fervor to wholesale replace capitalism as the global economic system.

Unless the US does the thing where they decide to violently lash out (as empires do in the past collapses) and nukes the world a few times over. I don’t think this is likely but also it is assuredly not non zero which is insane.

  • They’re vaguely defined by design in the US. It makes it easier to condemn an amorphous blob of vague ideas that ranges from centrist liberalism to anarchy than to actually have to engage in substantive arguments. Especially when all the existing structures that be fall in line to convince the masses of it.

To me leftists begin at being anticapitalist. I ask the question because its hard to even really know what “leftist” would be on Rumble. That platform is 1) for pedophile Nazis and 2) botted to hell and back. You’re not getting through to people genuinely on Rumble - it’s the Twitter of streaming platforms (maybe second to Kick idk).

  • Any serious Marxist of course values the international perspective as it is a fundamental part of the emancipation of all members of the working class. We cannot achieve a communist future without doing full and complete global revolution.

Is an international coalition possible within the constraints of capital today? Personally I want to optimistically say yes because we’ve seen international solidarity change the winds on issues like Gaza in the advent of our more connected world that I think few of our intellectual predecessors could have ever expected or imagined. We still have a fucking lot of work ahead of us though. Compare the power and vitality of socialist movements across the world during the Second International and to see what I mean. In the lead up to WW1 socialism was a real tangible movement with real power and influence the likes of which no one in the modern western world has ever seen. We need to get back to that and it’s going to take time still unfortunately.

I am of the mind that we should follow the examples Lenin has left for us and we must necessarily engage with the structures around us that exist today to proliferate our message to as many minds as possible. Even the structures that we as socialists rightfully declare as vestiges of capital, as long as the masses engage with them and believe in their validity we must engage with them as well. It is our job to inculcate them to the evils of capital (of which many are already tuned into on some innate level to begin with…many just need a push in the right direction to get their political development kick started) and to show them that our struggle for freedom anywhere is inexorably tied to our struggle for freedom everywhere.

From an electoral position, since we must necessarily engage with electoral and parliamentary structures to push our message and ideas and to be part of the conversation of governance, the emphasis on principled and accountable electeds becomes a prime concern. We must ensure we have electeds who are true representatives of the movement and who are ideologically committed to holding and maintaining a party line. We cannot have electeds falling to the whims of empire and capital and we must ensure these electeds convene and collaborate with the masses to ensure they are subject to the tribunes of the people.

From a western perspective there must also be a considerable emphasis on decolonization to support international cooperation and freedom. Western powers exist as imperial holdings and the inherent hierarchy this creates as powerful nations subjugate weaker ones for their own gain must be done away with wholesale. Constitutions must be redrawn to ensure true democratic participation of the members of society such that everyone is given true agency and influence over their lives and the issues that affect them. Minorities must be afforded reparations for the systematic subjugation they have been subject to and we must work to ensure these structures can never manifest again. Undemocratic structures of governance (like the Senate in the US for instance) must abolished completely. Nations must be afforded true independence and respect to allow self determination on a national scale.

There’s definitely more to say here and I probably would be smart to revise some of this (maybe later) but I gotta get to work lol

I’ve only been doing real theory analysis with local comrades recently and while its been incredibly educational I definitely am still learning and expanding my perspectives every day.

  • DSA is, in my opinion, currently the most viable leftist organization in the US. It is certainly the biggest and most active one in my area.

Originally I joined because I wanted to get involved locally just somehow. I didnt know what to do and found the most organized leftist group to join to learn the skills I was clearly missing.

I know people like to shit on DSA because there are the most baby leftists in it imaginable who often treat it as a pool activists they can tap for their capitalist adjacent reforms. There is truth to this in some chapters. Some of the largest chapters in the DSA like NYC and LA are so big they get NGO brain sometimes and lose sight of the mission.

From where I am sitting there is a clear path to move the national politics of this group towards being a true party of the people with designs to bring about socialism and eventually communism.

I am an applicant to the Marxist Unity Group caucus and strongly believe in their vision for the future of this org. It is our duty to bring these lessons to the working class to merge socialism with the worker movement. To build truly Democratic structures and bring them to the masses to show them another way is possible. We need a social democracy in this country and we have go to where the people are - imo that’s DSA. I dont think its lying to people its educating them out of their infantile understanding of what is necessary for us to cohere a national movement to take our country back.

I have much to criticize about DSA but I’m here because I want to help change it and educate people on why our path is the necessary one to move in the direction of Revolution and emancipation. I am surrounded by communist comrades in this org who feel similarly. MUG is a rapidly growing caucus that has National influence with the seats it has. DSA is moving left towards really being an independent force but it will take time. I wanna speed that up.

Ultimately I am here for progress. If it turns out CPUSA is the right ship brother I will pledge myself to that org so fast it will make your head spin. Same with PSL for that matter. But as it stands today I’m with DSA.
