Apple’s WebKit (WebCore+JavaScriptCore) was originally a fork of KHTML/KJS. They shared at the beginning but not very well. They eventually opened up their source and made changes that were more friendly to other developers. A lot of browsers and embedded renderers use WebKit, now, besides Safari and KDE based ones.

Google forked WebCore for Chromium. I don’t think they share a codebase, anymore. Edge, Opera and many embedded renderers use Chromium.

Anyway, I just think it’s interesting that most every browser out there is descended from KHTML.

I’ve seen the mod in that community delete comments that simply disagreed with them or called out their deletions. It’s always “harassment” or something no matter how polite people are being.

It is necessarily the case. No company incurs the cost of making something, delivers it and then just hopes that someone pays for it. You literally can’t do business that way.

Interaction in written text online is still a fairly unnatural way for humans to communicate. It’s missing the depth that physical and aural clues provide.

Add to that the evidence that humans can’t really manage more than about 50 relationships makes these global forums too much for a person to really handle.

I don’t know of the take-down legit but the security of the app has been questioned, too.

Edit: The removal was bullshit. Apple should be pressured to put it back. But, the developer or someone else could do much better.

Seriously, it sounds like they are not even requiring the same chip produced domestically. They’ll just make the dumbest cheapest chips. And if they can make any chip for less than the tariff, they’ll just make it, toss it and take a tax write off.
