My surface with windows 11 has been hot trash. So many unfixed bugs. Dism, sfc, etc say everything is ok. Lol.

I’m not sure you can teach boys not to be horny teenagers 😜
Psychology 101.
I work two jobs and an overall very busy life. I’ve started to outsource more. If I outsource, I can also spend that time working to make even more money so I guess the answer is “it depends” but I used to spend my time learning how to fix my vehicle and stuff. If it’s something that will take me a few hours and I’ll save a few hundred bucks ill do it myself. If it’s a big job its not worth my time.
Ya this happens so much. So frustrating. On the voice ones I get so fed up I just keep saying “agent” until I’m finally redirected.
I’m sorry to hear about your situation, sadly I think this is the future for many younger individuals. A few years ago I started a side gig which I do at the same time I do my full time job. It’s been steadily growing year over year and I’m finally starting to feel like I can breathe.
But that’s the hard part, isn’t it? The idea. I don’t know what you do for work, but is it possible you can do two jobs at once? Or some kind of online work after hours? I’m trying to remember what I know one person does, but it’s like they have to go online and validate certain data for websites or something. They get a set amount of hours they need to work and it’s flexible so it can be done like any time, even off their phone if I reall correctly. And apparently it didn’t pay too badly either.
Dog walking is a thing too. Sorry I have shit ideas, I’m not very creative either.
It has to do with codecs used or something like that.
Not sure, been a while since I used those
Most threat actors are looking at who owns what IP space and checking the IPs of that, or what other public info they can find (website address etc). Not chasing after someone with a consumer internet IP. There is just not the same incentive.
I don’t get your point. This isn’t an attack, this is a cheap consumer company doing what they do best and stealing your personal information because $ and other crap. If this happened in enterprise they’d be in so much shit with laws. Cisco, juniper, Aruba, etc are not going to be shipping off your passwords because that liability is going to be a big problem.
Enterprise level stuff also charge top dollar and don’t need to sell your data to make more money.
If enterprise level stuff we’re doing this intentionally they’d be out of business. This would not fly with SOC and other security designations.
Additionally just because a consumer uses enterprise gear, that does not make them a larger target. I’m not Microsoft. No state attacker is going to want my worthless data.
Unifi is probably the best you’ll get for prosumer. Unfortunately it’s not without flaws either. I’d take it over the junk consumer brands any day still. Because I work in the industry and I like to use a lot more advanced things, I can’t get myself to use anything other than opnsense for home use. I have a protectli for hardware. You can install pfsense, opnsense, probably even ddwrt which is probably the most friendly of the bunch from what I hear. I use a ruckus poe fanless switch, but this is the least important for a typical home user network. Just get something that has poe and isn’t cloud managed 😂
This is why I don’t run consumer crap. Among other reasons.
The Linux subsystem for windows.
Oh right, aren’t those all basically trash though? Like a few news channels and some talk shows?
I’m confused. Isn’t mythtv just TV tuner software or something? Which would still require a cable subscription? Plex and jellyfin do not operate on the same playing field. Jellyfin is also FOSS FWIW.
I am not sure but I suppose it’s the opposite of what we have here commonly called winter fuel, which I think has some additives to help engines run better in low temperature conditions.
How is this news in 2024? Haven’t they been bleeding for a decade +?
Streaming is new cable now anyways with fragmentation of media, ads slowly sneaking into various platforms etc. The golden age of streaming was brief.
I’ve never noticed
Since flip touch screen phones still seem beta new, I wouldn’t even consider used. I wouldn’t even buy a new one lol
