Same here. Got fed up after every damned update to subscribe to this, want to setup backup to cloud, setup office. Switched to Linux and now not a single subscription popup in sight. It’s been bliss. Spent the weekend with the misses sorting out 30 years of photos and getting to know exif editor 🫣

These outdated troglodytes in the cushy retirement home probably wouldn’t know what a VPN was if you explained to them. Half the time they’re asleep on the bench dreaming of days gone by.
Being the sceptic I am. Say even if they get the investigation, court and so forth, wouldn’t it just be thrown out in the United States as there would be no way in frozen hell they’d get a fair trial ?
They would need to find mole people to bring to jury who wouldn’t know what’s going on above ground …

This weekend. I’ve asked my significant other to check through and backup any files she may need but we’re switching off Microslops ecosystem this coming week. Got it down to Ubuntu or Mint for an ease of use while not jumping in the hole too deep. But we are in agreement at least to turn away.

Thanks Everyone. We went with Mint Cinnamon Distro. The hardest part being how to get into the BIOS and turn on the USB boot. Everything that was installed windows wise is now installed mint wise and got the other halfs’ bookmarks up and running in a browser for her (Vivaldi if anyone’s interested). VPNs up and working and so far so good. Didn’t get spammed to death with subscriptions windows which is a major plus.
TeamSpeak 6 maybe. Don’t know where they’re up to on it at the moment kinda lost the thread a while ago.

I don’t know how often its updated though all things considered. I’ve been out of the ‘clans’ games for sometime and just easing myself back into things from those rose tinted glory days of Blueyonder Gaming, Barrysworld and Gamespy shenanigans.
First ever live voice over IP I used was Roger Wilco where I met the misses and spent the current 30 years messing around. Roger Wilco(Bought out by Gamespy), Ventrillo, mumble, ICQ, TS, TS3, Discord seems like we’re coming full circle again 🥲. Ah the nostalgia.
