Wow, they are really taking everything down.

For me I can’t connect to it

As others have already said, piefed is much lighter than lemmy, and is what I’m running as well, my instance isn’t necessarily single-user, (anyone’s free to join), but there’s only one other user on my instance

This is the piracy community, for people interested in piracy

+1 to that. I started hosting it recently and haven’t even had to do anything about maintenance

That’s one of the main critiques with Ubuntu, they basically force snaps upon their users and make it INCREDIBLY difficult to disable

I highly recommend freesmlauncher, it’s a fork of prism launcher that doesn’t make you sign in.
You can then set up a Java server and in server.properties, set “online-mode” to false, that makes it so unverified accounts can join.
The only thing to note is that no skins will be present if you do this. There might be a mod that helps, but idk

Yeah, unless you’re making a discussion about human rights, or you have the most brain-dead opinion to ever disgrace this earth, people are pretty damn nice here

Hey! I just got my matrix-synapse working with call the other week, if you still need help you can message me here or @guynamedzero:matrix.zeromedia.vip

I can’t remember the exact technical details of it, but that’s how links are generated for non-Latin languages. If you go to the actual site it will display as the intended url

Seconding this! I have my own matrix server, it can be a bit of a pain to set up, but it works better than 99% of any other alternatives (trust me, I’ve tried almost every one of them)

Just updated my instance! Thanks to all contributors!

This probably isn’t the place to discuss it too much, but it’s a whole bunch of political nonsense they partake in

Do note that a lot of people/instances have lemmy.ml blocked, so you may get less responses if you post there.

Update to my i7-2600k, it’s taking 6 seconds per image

i7-2600k here…

Thanks! I had gotten it working by setting element_call in the .well-known to call.element.io, but I followed this and it works great! Unfortunately, the legacy call is oddly inconsistent, some people can use it, but some can’t.

I just updated the post with my compose.yaml file in case that’s helpful
And there they are!
