There’s been some discussion over the years that Tesla never seriously tried to make the battery swap work, that they did it to claim subsidies from California which they subsequently never returned to the taxpayers.
Oh, yeah I think you’re right. I think I might’ve changed it at some point.
Just checked and it’s under system > gestures > press and hold power button
I also have a pixel 6 and holding down power also works, though you have to wait a second. Power and volume up is instant.
If I’ve been repeatedly rerunning commands via ctrl-r’ing back through my history, I’ll start getting careless and more than i should have I’ve accidentally hit enter twice on the wrong command without pausing to double check first. Sometimes to less than desirable effect…
I had the same experience. Despite all the doomsaying online I found the installation and configuration process pretty straightforward thanks to the quality documentation.
Yeah, Ask Historians was the only truly good subreddit, at least in terms of moderation and quality of content.

Unbelievable.
Can’t wait for chatGPT to call me good sir and tell me I win the internet.
I don’t ever remember people taking Quora very seriously. It was always full of insufferable questions and replies.
Because then the company and public would have to come to terms with the fact that they are wildly overvalued based on Musk’s lies about their technology and capabilities and the stock price would tank. Also, the board is loaded with Musk cronies if I understand it correctly.
Commodore 64, probably around '86 or so. It had a tape drive and games would take like 20 minutes to load. Crazy to think about now.
Later on (probably around 1989 or 1990) I got an Amstrad 8086 PC. IIRC it had maybe 1mb ram (pretty large for the time) and a massive 20mb hard drive. I remember playing games like bubble Bobble, the Sierra adventure games and so on. A few years later I got a 386 DX PC and played a lot of wing Commander and privateer, dune 2, LucasArts games and so on.
Ahhh, memories!
To be fair, WoW is an actual complete game, while SC is very, very unfinished. And I say this as someone who occasionally plays it and gets some enjoyment out of it.
The 1 billion termination fee only applied in very specific circumstances. He couldn’t just choose to pay it because he didn’t want to go ahead with the purchase.
Edit: Well, to be clear he actually he could decide to pay 1 billion and walk away but he would be opening himself up to a multi-billion dollar lawsuit from Twitter for breaking the contract.
/r/movies has always had tons of those generic hidden/underrated gem/actor threads about huge blockbuster films that everyone has seen. It’s in no way a new phenomenon. The /r/moviescirclejerk subreddit has existed for years, and lives off those posts.
Yup. And wait until you find out that Happy Days was itself a spin off (of a sort).
It’s always seemed kind of crazy to me that this was a spin off of Happy Days
They’ll never oust him. If they do, they won’t be able to ride Musk’s reputation as an engineering and tech genius and they’ll have to finally address all the issues plaguing Tesla (terrible service, unreliable build quality, various lawsuits) and I doubt they can afford to actually invest in those things and keep turning a profit.
The Guys podcast has a pretty fun episode about this.
