I’m unzipped and waiting, bud
Honestly, say something useful or keep it to yourself, OK? These lil ‘gotcha’ comments do nothing but take up space and make you feel a misplaced sense of having done something (when you’ve in fact, done nothing).
Stuff like this comment, the mango Mussolini comments, the evil Cheeto comments, it all just fucking does nothing while still making people feel like they’re being transgressive. You’re not. It diverts energy from doing/talking about stuff that affects real change.
Dumbed* down (sorry ☹️)
I do feel like arguing semantics at almost all times steals some energy from the movement overall
Very interesting, I did not know that! Cool stuff
No? Wasn’t aware I needed to police my tone in a discussion about apple butter. The person I wrote it to seemed to really like it, so I was sorry they went so long not noticing it is, in fact, everywhere. I’m not sure exactly what part of my comment is setting people off, but it’s cool I guess.
Trader Joe’s has some fire freezer pancakes
I can literally go to any diner around me and there will be individually packaged containers of apple butter, usually next to whatever little packages of jelly they have on offer. I’m sorry you’ve suffered without for so long not noticing them
Buffalo…sauce? Buffalo, New York? Buffalo the ungulate? I am confused
Having been here since July of last year, there definitely are. The demographics skew towards older tech bro types, in my experience.
(They are, that’s why everyone gets bent out of shape when boomers are criticized here)
Next time I’m in an airport food court I’ll try to really take in the view of the cinnabon next to the starbucks.
The second Apple rolled out face ID, I knew this tech was ready and waiting for forced ads
But no one is investing billions into your dog’s shit, are they?
Thanks, I’ll try this!
How do you update manually? It won’t let me anymore since an update (the update button is always grayed out now)
Idk… That might even out. During a 30 hr drive, I’d probably add on at least 8-9 hours for every 8-9 driven, because that’s as long as I can stand to drive at a stretch without needing to find a hotel to stop for the night. Driving for that long is goddamned miserable, and at least in a train you can book an overnight car to sleep in so that even when you sleep travel keeps happening.
Idk, maybe I’m totally off base and this is totally personal preference, but if I’m already driving that far, I’d rather just take the train to not have to worry about driving myself.
As an example of this, if I got a C on any report card/progress report, my parents would take my phone away for the following 9 weeks until the next one came out with better grades. As a kid with undiagnosed ADHD, that meant I had my phone taken away…a lot. As a result, I had no real friendships by the end of high school, and ate my lunch alone every day. If you couldn’t text people/connect on socials, then you never got included in plans or developed those relationships with anyone.
It was lonely, painful, and it fucking sucked. My parents were too wanna-be Boomer to give a shit or even ask. I don’t speak to them any more for that and other reasons.
So yeah, social media may suck, but cutting your child off from modern social circles is a much worse parenting choice. Ideally you’d keep an eye on their use and help them form a healthier relationship with it. But I understand parenting is hard, especially when both parents work full time jobs.
I got a kobo recently and like it a lot. I got the sage because the screen is about the size of a manga page, which I knew I would be reading a lot of. I keep it in airplane mode most of the time and use Calibre to load it up. The system works well for me
