I guess I’m no longer ever going to play a video game that runs on Windows. At some point game developers need to realize that Linux is the future of gaming if Windows keeps pulling this shit.

Not the Dell one, not worth your time or money - only has Intel N-series processor. But the ASUS one may have better internals.

And take even longer to launch than it already does. No thanks. A text editor should be a simple text editor. If I wanted anything more complex, I’d use LaTeX.
Personally, I restore the classic Paint, Notepad and Snipping Tool from Windows 10 on my Windows 11 machines because they launch instantly and don’t have AI slop baked into them. You can uninstall the “new” versions of these apps that come with Windows 11 or leave them and have both. I personally uninstall them.
I even set up these “classic” apps to be my defaults where the “new” versions were before. Everything works perfectly.
For those interested, I wrote a guide on how to do this manually yourself: https://pastebin.com/1WAs38AP

So they’re going to turn everybody into teenagers. Last I checked, teenagers can’t buy things like nitro right? Doesn’t that completely fuck up their own business model?

The only viable alternatives are Stoat or Steam Chat. Teamspeak is still dragging their feet when it comes to modern feature support.

I don’t think you’ll need to uninstall. If I’m reading the article correctly, it looks like they plugged the hole in their update process by switching hosting providers to one that’s even more hardened and secure. So requests from the updater should go to the correct place now and not the state-sponsored hacker.
Then in about a month, the next version of notepad++ that is released will also properly validate/verify any downloaded update files from the server.
You could also just disable the checks for updates from within the application too. Or better yet, use something like winget to handle the updates instead of the built-in updater.

I’m just wondering then why Apple would even push this if a president was already set with Epic. What a bunch of greedy corporate bastards.

So couldn’t patreon just argue in court that this precedent was already set with epic?

Good, a well deserved ass-beating to the Nazi-in-chief. Fuck Elon and his company.
Except for games that use kernel level anti-cheat.
