I would probably find this out when Hall effect sticks died but they simply refuse to. Good to know though, thanks.
I used GuliKit NS40 which is available on Amazon and other places. Get a kit with tools if you don’t have tri-wing screwdriver yet. I was replacing joysticks every couple of months until I got those but haven’t had to since then.
RMA due to drift? That’s rather unheard of, I’d be more inclined to suspect that you got a fake.
Switch 2 desperately needs Splatoon 4 :(
[edit] saw Switch 2 upgrade News, this will do for now :)
You should have gone with Hall effect replacements since that’s a permanent fix. Not knocking on your effort, it’s a delicate work and you’ve got some practice in for the time you’ll have to go back to do that :)
I shall await the moment when AI pretends to be as confident about communicating not being able to do something as it is with the opposite because it looks like it’s my job somehow.
I’m not saying it’s good at coding, I’m saying it’s specifically advertised as being very good at it.
People write code with LLMs. Programming language is just a language specialised at precise logic. That’s what „AI” is advertised to be good at. How can you do that an not the other?
It’s unclear to me if HDMI 2.1 is supported at all because there’s no VRR while docked according to specs. I connected mine to 2.0 port and it says it’s capable of 120 Hz at 1080/1440p. I doubt 120 Hz with HDR would require HDMI 2.1 bandwidth since 2.0b can do 4K60 with HDR.
Digital triggers make most racing games suck. Could be intentional to sell more Mario Kart now that I think about it. Nintendo are business geniuses.
I checked with Tetris 99 forums and they say the d-pad is good. I cried all the way to the store and back because that’s basically two Xbox controllers in price but I can confirm that this controller is really really good. Still feel scammed about digital triggers but at least I can power up my console from the couch.
What was the reason given for removing the post? You’re leaving out some important stuff which is a tell for shit stirrers.
How is the d-pad on the new Pro controller?
I just connected old Pro controller and not only does it not wake Switch 2 from sleep, I was reminded very quickly how ridiculously bad the d-pad is on that thing. Given how expensive Pro 2 controller is, especially compared to 8bitdo Ultimate, that d-pad better be Gameboy-level accurate.
In other controller related findings my very old 8bitdo SN30 Pro+ doesn’t connect and there’s no firmware update (there is one for new models though). For now I’m using Mayflash X adapter with Dual Shock 4 but I’m being driven mad by the location of USB ports on Switch docks and how bad that dongle looks.
What’s nice is that games with dynamic resolution scaling look better even if they didn’t have performance issues on Switch 1.
Weren’t the reviews delayed because there’s supposed to be a huge software update that changes things so much that this isn’t representative of anything you’ll get to use? Supposedly. This will be a curiosity for retro enthusiasts 20 years down the line.
If you make money on YouTube you can afford iPhone Pro probably. You probably already have one for shooting quality video because what else is there at this budget?
Going by number of features isn’t really a way to tell what’s premium. For me the bar is set really low which is not having ads, which most budget Android phones fail at.
They’ve just done this to create artificial value for the “Pro” models.
Correct. They found out professionals have money to afford premium hardware and software so you can charge them that. Perfectly reasonable way to make money, little competition in that space as opposed to general purpose budget stuff.
