Seems like half of Lemmy is here in the last 2 weeks for the same reason I am.

Pictures of Luigi Mangione, “Innocent until proven guilty”, pictures of Luigi/Mario, Luigi’s pizza, “Innocent until proven not guilty”. The most explicit, maybe “DDD”.

“Fiery death to all humans”. You know, normal stuff.

Or just stop posting there and let them rot.

Nope! I got individual comments removed, and subreddit bans so I have a good idea. Anything even vaguely mentioning use of force will do it. One comment said “don’t give Republicans an inch”, I said “let’s give them 9mm” and permaban.

This message was just anything vaguely supporting Luigi Mangione. Examples “innocent until proven guilty”.

Go to the Luigi subreddit and upvote everything there if you’re really in a hurry.

It’s time consuming but just checkout popular and keep scrolling/refreshing for an hour, you’ll find it but they’ll all be removed within days.

Truthfully I miss some of the toxicity 😁 it’s so, so easy to win arguments with random strangers, so much wrong stupidity. I know some of them are not real. Yes lol this is much healthier.

Name the first person that comes to mind when you think of mega social media and news desperately skewing the story to alter due process by contaminating any random jury. Hint, it’s not Bernie Sanders.

The post talks about social media being owned by elites. It’s implying rampant censorship by social media, like Reddit, and also a twist on his story to make him look guilty without due process. I don’t know where you got the implication of violence from, you didn’t explain it yourself.

It does make me feel violently angry! But not because of Luigi, because of the billionaire’s evil actions towards us all.

Counterpoint: why did police and media parade Luigi around as if he were guilty? What if Luigi is completely unrelated to Thompson’s death? Police departments want us to think he’s guilty and violent, his case is a lot more about legal injustice than violence right now. But hell if they want us to think about violence, we’ll do it but in a way that doesn’t empower corporate elites.

It’s also about freedom of speech. I’m on Lemmy due to Reddit bans. Did I imply I was going to be violent? No. Just talking about Luigi will get you banned, Reddit appears to be complying in advance to political pressure. Why else would they care?

Literally seems like 1/4 the comments of Reddit, 1/1000 the userbase. I think between API lockdown and “violence” banning, the entire commenting community of Reddit came here lol.
