Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•retirement savings in Germany, how much do I need?
2·2 days agoClearly you must invest a considerable sum (at least 1/10 of your salary) each month , government pensions will continue to decline in value. It’s probably best to spread out your savings with a diversified approach (stocks, pension fund, realty).
How about sticking to Veronika? I still feel bad that People always and only use my nickname. Veronica has a lot of meaning: “Veronica is a female given name, a Latin alteration of the ancient Macedonian name Berenice (Βερενίκη), which in turn is derived from the Macedonian form of the Attic Greek Φερενίκη, Phereníkē, or Φερονίκη, Pheroníkē, from φέρειν, phérein, to bring, and νίκη, níkê, “victory”, i.e. “she who brings victory”.”

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Does anyone have experience with collecting donations in Germany? I have some questions
2·10 days agoNothing to be afraid of - a Verein actually has many advantages, like tax breaks and donations from local banks and town- and state-government - practically costing no effort. You can search for “how do I start a German Verein “ as an example I found this article https://vostel.de/blog/en/founding-association/

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Does anyone have experience with collecting donations in Germany? I have some questions
4·10 days agoI support many Vereine in germany… and indeed it is best to create a Verein to tackle all the issues around donations, taxation etc. You can do this without a verein structure, but you will quickly run into legal and money, tax issues.

312·13 days agoYou will need to compromise. Not voting means your vote goes to the politicians and parties you LEAST agree with (that’s simple math). So pick the party you least disagree with, and VOTE.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Does anyone else hate how everyone is trying to make money all the time?
51·14 days agoThat’s relative. I had a just a few wooden toys, people were old at 55, cancer killed people, there was hardly any diagnostics and few medicines. Lgtbq people didn’t “exist”, gays were heavily discriminated against. Mobbing was fully accepted. Sure, looking back has a romantic ring to it, but I wouldn’t want to go back. Back then and today: best is to count your blessings.

72·14 days agoYes, it’s not unlike when I was young 🤓 still: we should tax the rich. Instead of making bezos Zuckerberg et al rich, we should tax the rich.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why is science fiction so much more optimistic than real life? Is this a cognitive bias?
4·15 days agoAren’t people in general optimistic?
Migration is an artificial problem, put on the political agenda by xenophobic little people, who have themselves seen very little of the world.

The secret is in the practice before the concert. Over many weeks, months the conducter truly “sets the tone”, listening to each individual instrument, their interplay, the tempo, the balance. The conductor knows the weaknesses and strengths of the orchestra, and during the concert uses the stick to create accents, to control the speed, to make sure any hurdle is removed. It doesn’t have to be a stick, some use just their hands.
