I generally find that peertube lacks much content but I’ve found a few channels that I am actually interested it. I find that the video quality is usually higher than what youtube gives me, so I use peertube for the few videos a month I can.
Also, I’m replying from a linux phone running postmarketos, a pixel 3a specifically.
I started using reddit just for the memes and would use some 3rd party frontend to get rid of the ads and nake the interface way cleaner. When the API pricing was announced, I serched for a better source of memes and somehow found lemmy. No ads, no bullshit, and there are some cool communities here that I actually want to participate in.
They would also filter out a newsletter I signed up to that I actually wanted to read.
I always think about the direction that the top of the circle turns to apply left or right rotation, though I usually use muscle memory.
Any reason to use the apps you listed over just using discord in a browser?
I switched over to Zoho as well recently. While there are some upsells, they are usually reasonable enough. I also occasionally use their other services like writer, notes, and calendar which is nice.
IIRC Framework can preinstall fedora for you since it’s officially supported. I use Fedora on an AMD Framework 13 and its been very smooth. Even the fingerprint sensor works.
EDIT: They will not install linux for unfortunately but it is still supported
But also, there are significant potential savings and advantages for data storage at home.
The learning aspect is the big one for me. If you need a reliable service with no time spent learning or troubleshooting, you’re probably better using a paid service.
Bitwarden does exactly that. It will mostly work with no server connection.
I have one of the newer AMD models and I find it has about 2-3 hours of batter life, though it spends most of it’s time suspended for my use case. I use Fedora and have the “balanced” profile selected. I don’t mind the poor battery life since the processor is leaps and bounds better than the 6th gen 2 core Intel I was using before.
The bullshit of chromeOS to be capable of running on the shittiest hardware but having an artificial lifetime for devices is stupid. To google’s credit, they did increase that limit to 10 years, but that was only recently.
Are you using a framework 13? While I find the battery life to be usable, if it’s that much worse on Windows I’m not sure I would have gotten a framework if I used windows lol.
Pretty good if you stick to linux. Better than NVidia since that’s what I had before.
Uh oh, I have an Intel ARC.
Wait, where did you find out that 8GB of ram is more expensive to manufacture?
When the app is prompting you to accept cookies
I use the Voyager Web App lol, only gotta store browser cache and cookies. Take that private social media!
I think waiting on the phone for an hour just to argue with someone to cancel a subscription is reasonable, as long as the signup process also involved waiting on the phone for an hour before an agent tried to talk you out of buying the service.
But if I signed up on a website in 30 seconds, it should take tine or less to unsubscribe on the same website.
