lets not forget some of the DNC signed off on it, Mills and whitmer both approved in thier states, they know they are on thier way out so they will to grab money while they still can.

They are providing nothing people actually need, and they destroy the environment and cause harm to animals and humans with their noise and vibrations.
Also massive water and energy requirements that drives up the prices for every human.
These things would be banned in a society where we cared about people over profits.
I’m not sure we should keep harping on water usage. Agriculture (especially in the american southwest) uses THE VAST MAJORITY of freshwater. Its not even close.
We should harp on the fact that they take up land, are loud, are being used for mass surveillance and state violence, and owned by billionaires. Thats reason enough to get rid of them. Oh and driving up electric bills (just got my letter this month telling me to conserve power becuase my bills going up. Theyre putting a data center here. Really pisses me off)

Most of the water for agriculture will go back to earth and will continue the water cycle in that area. While water for data center usually evaporated, which will contributes more to draught in that area
That makes sense and I’m not an expert but…evaporated water comes back down again as rain does it not? It’s been a while since I’ve dug into this. Lakes evaporate all the time.
My wife (who is a professor) explained it to me this way. The water would have gone into the ground water for the local area, by evaporating, it goes into the larger water system globally, meaning it will rain somewhere else. Ultimately, hurting the available ground water supply of the local population.
Makes sense.
Water for food is a compromisable subject. Child pron factories aren’t for far more people.
At least for me, pro farmer folk do understand conservation and the important of managing natural resources, again it’s a compromise when it comes to feeding people (yes, we also have to fight against wasteful water practices and choose to grow more sustainable food, but that should not stop momentum where we got it).
I agree - however theres a lot of farmer-types who just want to abuse the land for the most profit (see, pesticides and herbicies and tiling destroying our water tables and poisoning groundwater)
Far far too many for sure. No honestly I know a few farmers I very much respect, but they’re getting older and the fail sons that are inherently the fields suck (the ones that don’t aren’t fail sons by definition)
